Avatar Name: Position & Length

Post by whornak »

Both the position and length of the avatar name seem to have changed in OpenSpace 2. I have checked the documentation and there is no mention of control over either of these. The length of the name being displayed seems to be restricted to about 8 characters and the position has moved to under instead of above the avatar.

Is there a way to control one or either of these?

The most important one for me would be the length of the name since the game allows for a first and last name for a total length of 50 characters though the average would be 15-20 characters since it is driven by a controlled list.

You can write your own Ghost class and display it the way you like.

Nepaleno is right. In the example provided with OpenSpace we moved the avatar name to the "ghost" avatar, which is an additional sprite above the main avatar, which is placed on a layer above the whole map.

example not complete

Why can't I see in any of the Avatar ghost example code how you set the name to be visible?

When I republish the Avatarcontainer.fla there is no name appearing on the avatar at all.

This seems to be a font embedding problem. In fact in the example the name is always visible.
