Listing and joining games

Hello,

I need a little help getting started here. I've been trying, but can't seem to figure out how to do this even though it seems like it shouldn't be that difficult. One problem is that a lot of the tutorials and sample code contain .fla files I can't open because I'm using Flex and not the FlashBuilder IDE. Can anyone help me get started?

Here's what I want to do:

When a user logs in, there are three list boxes. There are three games they could play, and the list boxes list the games being played which they could join. Not all games being played on the server are listed, I want to send a variable to the server that determines which games are displayed. When they select a game and press the join button, another browser window pops up with the game and they can play.

For example, the games available are A, B, and C.
There are various game clubs of which the users can be member.
When the user goes to the page of X game club and logs in, he sees only the games being played in X game club in the lists, not any of the ones being played in Y or Z game club.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello.
This scenario is perfect for the Room Groups feature. What you need is to have a Room Group for each Club, and inside it you would only have the rooms of those clubs.
The client needs to subscribe to a Room Group before it can see what rooms there are inside. I suggest you that when an user reaches the lobby, he sends an ExtensionRequest to a Zone-Level Extension which then returns the list of available Room Groups (this only if you want to show to the client all the available room groups).

For more information regarding the Room Architecture, I suggest you to read this chapter and this one of the documentation.
