MMO Game - Programmer

Post by smartredfox »

Hello,

Let me first introduce myself. My name is Brandon, and I am in the process of making a game called "TheSocialHangout". The avatar's are ducks, and I am looking to target the ages of 7-13. This game was originally started by me and another friend of mine. He rarely helps, and what he told me to do for the login part of the game, is NOT what you are suppose to do.

Aside from that matter, I am starting off with the free 20 concurrent users online license. My plans are to gather up some donations from the team, family members of mine, and just players of our game that like it and love it. As we progress and get donations, we will get the 100 users license, then up to 1000, then unlimited. I am willing to invest into this game. I will be buying an SSL, copyright, and make the company name official this summer. Right now I am expecting to release around August of this year, if not later. You can't just rush through a game, you know?

I might change the avatar around, because I found another duck from another game that is dead, that I like better. It's more modern, that's all.

Enough with the talking, on to the details!

I am looking for someone who can effectively apply their skills in Adobe Flash CS5. I will be willing to give a free copy, licensed, full version to you if you do not have it (I suppose you do), who can design room architecture, and effectively code and make objects come to live by using actionscript. I'm not talking like hardcore 5000 line actionscript code like Club Penguin, but enough code to bring the game to life, not just a boring suckish game that no one will like.

You are not alone on this. I have designed the duck, will be designing the website, and programming the website (register.php, etc). I would say this is rather a part time free drop rather than a full time paid job.

I have realized now that I cannot go along alone, without members in my team to help me, and make such a successful game like waddlevillage.net or clubpenguin.com. I have big dreams for this game, and believe that if I already made it this far, then I can make it a lot further, but the only way is by not giving up, I was taught to keep on going.

What I have done so far contains the simple matters. I have made a register.php which grabs the information entered in by the user, and registers them in a MYSQL database which then gives them their own unique ID number.

I have designed the login screen how I want it to be for now, although I may change it, in fact I will. Such as server list, save password, etc. I am barely at a milestone, but must admit I have laid down the groundwork for now.

What I am having trouble doing is the login with extesions. I will explain later if you want this job. Let me note that each staff member who joins WILL be a moderator for the game, and will get paid when the game comes out. It may not be a large amount to start off, or straight away when the game lifts off, but you will eventually, don't worry!

Please think highly about this, everyone!

Thanks,
Brandon
