Zone Configurator won't work

Hi,

I've just finished writing a bit of my Server-side extension, which has as a dependency a Hibernate project. I've built the jar, and everything seemed to work nice.
Next, I add it to {sfs-install-dir}/SFS2X/extensions/MyExtenstion/MyExtension.jar.

After that, when I go to Admin Panel, open Zone Configurator, and dbl click on a zone, it says "Requesting Data..." and staying like that for ever.

An error should be logged on the server side.
Can you please report it here? Thanks.

Seems like there's nothing.

I'm looking into /SmartFoxServer_2X/SFS2X/logs/smartfox.log - a txt file. Am I doing it right?

That's right. I recommend that you check right after you click on the Zone in the AdminTool.
Also make sure no errors are logged when the server starts.

Hey Bax,
The server starts just fine:
serverstart.png
(37.8 KiB) Not downloaded yet
And I cannot see any errors right after clicking the Zone Configuration in the Admin Tool.

Do you think it can be because of the extension itself?

Can you send your Extension jar file by email? I would like to test it locally.

I've sent you the jar via email. Please let me know if it arrived.
Thanks!

We received the file and there's an issue with it: other than your own classes, it contains all the dependancies required by your project. I think it's your dev environment which is packing everything in a single jar file, but this causes an error on the client side of SFS2X (due to an immense list of classes -more than 5000 names- sent to the AdminTool).
You have to keep the dependancies jar files separated, possibly under the /extensions/__lib__ folder, and make your own jar file contain your classes only.
This should fix the problem.

Also please do not deploy the sfs2x.jar as an Extension dependency, it is only required for compilation.
In your current jar you also have all of the SFS2X classes, which are old and conflict with your server's classes.

thanks

I didn't know I should exclude sfs2x.jar when building the artifact, maybe it's worth noticing it in the documentation?
I'll make the necessary changes and let you know if it works.

Thanks a lot for your help guys.

Well, actually in the docs we explain how to deploy Extension and we don't mention that sfs2x.jar is required.
It would go without saying that if we don't specify that file (or any other) as requirement then they are not needed.

Thanks
