Guilds

An area of functionality that I think it would be awesome if SmartFoxServer Pro added is "Guild" functionality like is present in most massively-multiplayer games. For those who haven't played games like ""World of Warcraft" or "Guild Wars", a guild is a persistent player-run subgroup of characters within the game world. Guild functionality would include:

- Ability for a player to form a new guild and name it.
- Ability for a player to invite other players to join his guild.
- Ability for the guild owner to specify which guild members are just "Members", and which are "Officers". Officers have guild invite/kick privilages.
- An event that gets fired when other guild members log on and off of the game.
- And most importantly, a guild gets its own chat channel allowing groups of friends to chat with their guild members wherever they are spread throughout the world.

I also want to point out that Guilds are not just for fancy AAA 3D games like World of Warcraft. Puzzle Pirates ( http://www.puzzlepirates.com/ ) is a 2D puzzle game that uses Guilds (called "Crews" in that game) to great effect.

Interesting suggestion.
Well this could be created as a separate module for SFS. For example it could be implemented in Java as a separate package and then used inside server side extensions.
Actionscript extensions can also integrate any java classes so they could be used transparently in both java and AS extensions.

We'll think about it :)

Doing it as an additional module also sounds good.
