Will we ever see any of these components for AS3 projects? I'd love to use them but I program in AS 3.0 :( Thanks.

The as3 version of SmartFoxBits is in our todo list, just after the release of the RedBox and another "goodie" we can't talk about yet.

We are just starting the development phase, but we don't have a release date yet.

AS3

Post by CB »

Bax -

I'm in the middle of a big project. The serverside is pretty much done (using standard actionscript as provided and will be re-written eventually in python), the client side is all AS3.

I've used SFB before and it has saved me a lot of development time. Can you make any suggestions regarding using the current SFB but opening an AS3 game? Or should I just buckle down and write all the looby and chat stuff in AS3?

Thanks much

It's not so easy to achieve, but the only way is to open the game in a new browser window. This will require having the games on a different SFS zone, login the user silently with the same username to the new zone, etc.

Any update on the ETA of AS3 SFB?

And will it be flash cs3 based or Flex? Or both :)

Thanks
Paul.

SFBits AS3 are currently work-in-progress. We should be able to release them in 1 or 2 months. They will be both Flash CS3 and Flex based.
