[beta] Arq Online - Space MMO Inspired by Eve

Hello everyone. I just wrapped up the foundation work for a space-themed MMO I am working on to be featured on my freelance portfolio. The game is free to play and heavily inspired by Eve Online, the goal here was to rebuild things to the best my ability. This is the second Unity + SmartFox MMO demo I've created and has certainly been the more challenging of the two. Getting two clients to correctly sync up positions while using separate floating origins and traveling at warp speed was a time-consuming process. Unlike my previous MMO demo, this project does not leverage the SmartFox MMO API but rather uses a large number of rooms with players joining a central "local system" room for region chat.

With the core mechanics and framework in place, my goal is to continue to add more features over the coming months, working towards a more full-fledged demo. At the moment you can only really warp around and mine asteroids, but it shouldn't take me long to implement UI for reprocessing ore and using blueprints to craft ship modules. I'll also be grabbing the inventory system from my fantasy-themed MMO to speed up the process here a bit since it is fairly modular and works well with crafting systems and multiple containers. And I'll be adding several new star systems to this region and making star gates functional as well. There's lots to do, but as with my other demo, I'll keep plugging away at it when I have the time.
