Hey,
My host has installed SmartFoxServer Pro, and I notice there is now a new folder ourside the normal folder "public_html". How do I use the admin tool from there? Or will I need to move it to the public_html folder, but making sure the password is secure?

None of the SmartFoxServer files should be in the public web server folder.
SFS is a standalone server and you don't need to have its files inside the web server public in order to make it work. Just create a new folder for it and launch it. No other operations are needed.
About the AdminTool, yes you can move it in a folder of your choice under the public web folder and set your admin login/password in the SmartFoxServer configuration file

Hi Lapo,
I moved the admin swf file into the public folder, but it won't connect. To connect to the server I have to use the System.security.loadPolicyFile function. How can I do this for the admin tool, because it seems it is trying to connect onto localhost 127.0.0.1.
Thanks

The admin tool does not need the System.security.loadPolicyFile, it already does that.
I don't understand why you would publish the tool online, if you just want to connect locally on 127.0.0.1 ... it obviously won't work.
Just run the tool as a standalone application, by double clicking it

I can't because my host installed it, i'm on shared hosting, so I don't actually have access to SmartFoxServer.
Here is a screen shot of the folder setup in SmartFTP:
If you see, the SFS folder is outside the public folder so people cannot access it.

You gotta ask your server admin if he configured SFS to run on the public server IP address. If he just installed it without changing the IP, it will run by default on 127.0.0.1 which is useless.
Hope it helps
