bug with buddy list even using the buddy list that comes with the smart fox server without poblishing it.
if i have a buddy and he goes to a room, if i send a message everthing is good but if he sends a messge i recive the user objected undefined
although through the server debug i can see his id.
is this a bug or am i the only one having it?

You receive it undefined, because your local "view" of the user list is limited to the room(s) in which you are currently connected.
This aspect has been already discussed some time ago over at

i understand what your saying, the game i build which im now using the lite server, i build a buddy list on the basic because im trasnfering my clients to the new server, in the game i have a communicator like icq that u can talk to eachother through it. i read in your docs that the buddy list
is ment to implement somthing like icq so how is it spose to do so
if it is limited to the room???
i can pas the user name and user id through the message and decode it but i dont understand why cant this be done eaisly all i need is
user name a user id so i can answer him back. which the user id is passed just not passed to the function.

We currently provide a working example (with source code) of an ICQ like messenger with SFS PRO 1.4.
It allows to add/remove buddies, check their statuses (available, busy, offline) and of course exchange messages.
You can
read more about it in this article
your docs that the buddy list

Of course not. Take your time with the examples and check the source code of the "SmartMessenger", it will help you understanding how the buddy list is being used.

This is the main support forum for our products. If you have bought the product and you need help for troubleshooting you can contact us directly.
For general programming questions we prefer to use this board so that other people can read the dicussion and learn from them or add their comments etc...
good luck
