Hi,

I'm on osx (and fairly new to that as well as sfs).
Sfs is running smoothly, but it seems red5 doesn't launch.

Let me give you some info:
- I am correct that red5 doesn't run silently in the background?
- I doubble click the Red5 icon and the response is that the icon scales up while fading out. Is this supposed to happen?

'NetConnection.Connect.Failed'

Any clues to what is wrong?

Yes, correct. When launched it will log lots of boot info in the console.

No.
Try the following:
open a terminal window
change directory to {your-sfs-folder}/Server/RedBox
type: ./red5.sh

This should start the Red5 server correctly

Hi,

I dragged 'red5.sh' into Terminal and hit Enter.
-bash: /Users/kristianlund/Documents/kpodenphant/Smartfoxserver Pro/Server/RedBox/red5.sh: Permission denied
kristian-lunds-macbook-pro:~ kristianlund$

I do have read and write permissions.
I guess this is more a osx issue than sfs issue.
Still I would appreciate any help or suggestions?

Hi,
probably you are missing execution permissions, which is necessary for any executable script

You can solve the issue easily:
- open a terminal in the RedBox folder
- type: chmod +x start.sh
- type: ./start.sh

That should be all

Note:
The shell file is called 'red.sh' not 'start.sh'

Ah yes sorry, I am too used to the SFS script names.
Glad it is working correctly now.
