Problems with CPU consumption

I have noticed that since migrating to v2.0 from v1.0, the CPU consumption on any client machine (moslty XP and Vista-based machines) are significantly higher than before. On most single CPU machines, the CPU consumption by the browser on which the game is being played, shows a 75% CPU load with about 50% of the actual CPU time consumed by the browser hosting the game.

Was wondering if anybody else had the same problems.

Thanks
Charan

We haven't noticed performance issues comparing OpenSpace v1 and v2.
Actually v2 was optimized with respect to v1, and a number of routines (like pathfinding) has been moved to the server-side, so we wouldn't expect a worst behavior.
Are you comparing the Flash version of v2 with v1? Same map, same avatars, etc?

Same map, same avatars. Very surprising when we found that. We do not have much client side processing, if any. This is very surprising.

Are you comparing the two Flash versions? Or are you comparing v2-Flex against v1-Flash? In the latter case, please consider that the Flex SDK adds a considerable overhead.

Its all Flash. No Flex at all.
