server side extension language options

This past weekend I was at a game development confrence and mentioned the intention to use SmarFoxServer for an upcoming project. One of the AscenionWar people warned that the ability to use python or actionscript serverside would be going away in a near future version. Is there any truth to this?

SFS Pro verison will always support python, java and actionscript serverside extension. SFS 2X (which has an entirely new framework) will only support Java extension. More info can be found about SFS2X -->

is development on SFS Pro stopping once SFS2X comes around? or will they both be supported in parallel.
