Yes that is correct.
However if you are using these local SFS instances for testing purposes there is no need to spend the full price of a production license.

Check the bottom of this page for "testing licenses"

Hi Lapo,

I just have a very quick question regarding Terracotta and SmartFox integration and the ClusterLobbyDemo kindly provided by you. Given the following configurations:

lobby config (cluster-lobby1.xml to cluster-lobby6.xml)
IP: localhost
gates: 9339, 9338 etc.

and game config (cluster-game1.xml and cluster-game2.xml)
IP: localhost
gates 10000, 10001

When a user creates a game room say for game1, a room is created in localhost:10000, correct? Is it then right to say that when users join this game room, they are disconnected from their previous room connection of say localhost:9339? Does this have anything to do with multi-room presence?

Would appreciate a reply on my question above! I couldn't quite get the ClusterDemo to create the game rooms so I couldn't check if users will disconnect from their previous node when they joined the game room.

No they aren't disconnected. 2 connections are used. One for the games and one for the Lobby.
