MapAnimationEvent.ZOOM_END, MapAnimationEvent.ZOOM_START

Post by laxersaz »

Are the MapAnimationEvent.ZOOM_END and MapAnimationEvent.ZOOM_START events already implemented in the beta 2 release? When I use the zooming, those events are never fired.

Where did you find a reference to these events?

Those are static constants inside the MapAnimationEvent class

Actually the MapAnimationEvent class is used internally by the OpenSpace engine only. The only members you should take care of are those exposed by the OpenSpace class, and the only events available are those you can see in the initializeOpenSpace method of the example's main.as file.

Alright, thanks for making that clear.
I'll stick to the official methods then

It would be nice, though if those events could be exposed in order to be able to achieve a customized handling.

Can you describe a use case scenario for those events?

For example, if you want to zoom in on a building and trigger an animation or some kind of hint or dialog for the player as soon as the zooming stops.

Usually zoom is quite fast. Anyway we will take this suggestion into account.
