One more thing.
When we talk about the latest Flash Player... do you refer to the new 64-bit version released recently? If so that's just a beta version and it's likely to be carrying some problems...

I know a lot of people will be tempted by the fact that it promises new HW acceleration features under Windows, but being a beta it's likely to have its own quirks...

Just wanted to mention

I'm talking about the latest that was released to the general public use, which gets updated automatically when you open your browser in the morning and all you want to do is play some games while you hope your boss leaves you alone for the next few hours so you could start your day the right way, and also hope some one will be nice and ask if anyone wants anything from the bar, and get you coffee and something sweet to eat... that version... :)

I believe it was version "WIN 10,1,82,76".

Actually, I see now that there are more issues about port 9339 added since the last time I looked, to post them here would be useless, just put this in google.com (mind you, com, not it) and you'll see what I'm talking about:
"port 9339 blocked".

Port 9339 is just like any other port, nothing really special. But of course it is the default and most developers probably don't change it.
Also I am quite sure that today it is a well know port number especially among sys admins that have to configure companies' routers/firewalls etc... it's probably know as the "multiplayer games" port and it's blocked by default.

Again you can use any port number, provided that it's not already taken by something else. In particular port 443 and 80 are very likely to be left open for HTTP traffic and you can use them for SFS as well.

wouldn't using a port like 80 create problems, or conflicts with other application using that same port?

I might be sounding very stupid here, but if I'll set up smartfox to work on port 80, and someone on his computer while playing opens up an application, lets say a mail client, and that client also works on port 80, won't there be a problem? a disconnection?

(please don't laugh at me for asking that...).

As I said, you can run the Server on port 80 if no other services are already using it, typically a web server.

By running a dedicated SFS machine you can run the server on port 80 and maximise the connectivity.
Adding the BlueBox (for PRO servers) will improve this even more for all connections behind proxies etc...

Well, we do have a pro server, which I'm working on getting in shape for our new games system, but as for now there is no chance of us switching server until we find out what is the problem right now with the games as they are, if it's a plug-in issue, if it's a smartfox issue, if it's a "I've not done good enough a job of it" issue, or anything else.

Our server is dedicated to smartfox, and I will see with THE GUY if we can set it up for port 80.
When we switch systems and start using the Pro server, we will also make sure the bluebox is set and used.
