java extension not loading new version

I am having a problem with updating a zone-level extension that is using Java classes. When I reload the extension, the version that was used when the server started is being reloaded, and not the new version that has been copied. This is happening on a linux install of 1.6.6 that is patched to 1.6.9. If I restart the smartfox server, then it loads the new version but then I still can't update it.

I was able to solve this issue by removing javaExtensions folder from the classpath.
