Users connected to more then one room when shouldn't be...

Post by yuvallahav »

Well, as always in this point of production, when we thought we were all good and ready, and everything is online on the production server, and people come and go as they please, we always run into the more interesting issues...

This time, it would seem the server does not clean up after users left rooms which were created dynamically, and whats worst, the clean up is not confined to just the rooms themselves, but also to the users objects inside the room!
What this means is that as I look at the admin console right now, I can see about 40 game rooms, but in some of them, I have the same user connected to more then one room, and I've already seen users connected to 4 different rooms! and it's the same user object! same variables, same Id, same everything, and no! my server, zone, or rooms are not set up for multi-room functionality! in fact, I have no idea how to set them up for it! I just know that the "leaveRoom" function has no effect at all on anything, and when I try to use it, it does not fire the onLeaveRoom event (I can take it as not activated by these signs, right??).

So what could be causing this effect?? I mean, joining a room on the server should have the effect of taking the user out of the previously logged into room, shouldn't it?

Server version SmartFoxPro 1.6.8.

Thanks again, I know I'm keeping you guys on your toes and sleepless... :)

Have you tried updating to 1.6.9? The problem you explained sounds so similar to the problem I had previously before 1.6.9.

Yeah, I've done so a couple of hours ago, but it could be that I have not blocked chrome users on this system, something I've done for the server basic system which cleared up a ton of problems, so I'm going to do that now, and wait to see what happens in the morning.
