PlayerId problem

Post by tpenn »

I have encountered an issue with PlayerIds. I'm on RC-1b with Unity 3.1. I am using the default Player Id generation.

What happens step by step is this:
1. User 1 joins a new game room.
2. The client checks SmartFox.MySelf.PlayerId and sees that he has been assigned PlayerId 1, which agrees with what the admin tool shows.
3. User 2 joins the room. He is assigned PlayerId 2 by the server.
4. User 2 can check both his and User 1's PlayerIds, and they are correct. Player 1, however, reports User 2's PlayerId as 0.

It appears to me that when a new user joins a game room, existing users are not updated with the new player's PlayerId. Is there something I am missing to get that information sent to existing users in the game room, or do we have a bug here?

I'm doing nordic game jam from today to Sunday.

If you dont hear anything from me by mid next week, then poke me.

One thing that could happen is that you pull out the room object from the room manager - and it then itself doesnt get updated. Try to pull out a new room object and see if it has an updated player.

If not, then could be a bug!

Gave that a shot, but it didn't resolve the issue. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
