The SFS-Tutorials one was based on an avatarChat. But, if your using code you created, then what I would do is make the wall unclickable.
Did you try downloading the source file and look at the coding there?

I would strongly encourage you to study more tutorials and examples.

When I started making my first multiplayer game, I spent about 4 months studying AS and SFS tutorials.

you dont need to wait. What you need to do is to learn programming, and learn its not copy & paste code from tutorials. Of course you can use them (i still read lots of flash tutorials and im still learning new things everyday). You need to learn and train your programming skills before doing a mmo. Do u think that every person that gets here comes with no experience and then releases a new super cool game the following months? If you think so, im sorry but you are completely wrong. If you dont know, a mmo is the hardest game type to do. So i suggest you to start from 0 and not from 50.

you misunderstood me. I only explained that you dont learn much by just copy the tutorials. You should read some as basics books

Alright then, calm down.. If you have study enough, you should know how to do it with abit of ActionScript.. And I don't know why that tutorial didn't work.. He has worked hard that boy too make tutorials.

Even if what you don't want to do is a prerequisite to something you do want to do?

It's not optional - you need to know a programming language and about networking. Besides, we can't really give a tutorial on something like that. There's a thousand different ways to approach this problem and all of them are dependant on the architecture of your game. You can't just drop 10 lines of code into your source and expect magic to happen.
