Hi,
I am fairly new to SmartFox API so please bare with my armature questions for a little while.
I did use a search and have already read everything in docs, but I still have following questions:
1) how do I create Limbo rooms in SmartFox2,I do not see that option in administrator console. has it been deprecated? if so where can I read about it and reasons behind it being removed .
2) under zone configuration I noticed that some of my room names under "rooms" list are light grey color and some are solid black, is there any reason for it and what does it mean>?
Kind Regards
L

hi.
1) Limbo rooms are rooms in which nearly no events are dispatched, and so can handle lots of users. In SFS2x, its different, much more customizable and now you can, for example, choose which events are dispatched in each room. So, that way you can simulate a limbo room by removing nearly or even all events of that room.
2) if my memory isnt failing, the grey rooms are rooms which you have configurated but arent activated yet, i mean, no one can access them. I think there.s a play button in the room in the zone Monitor which activates it (not sure as i.ve only seen this to activate a zone), or maybe theres another button somewhere else which does the job.
Note: Please post SFS2x related questions in the SFS2x forums.

thanks for the reply
I solved a room name being grey probme (I think) here : http://forums.smartfoxserver.com/viewto ... 7599#47599
I have a question regarding limbo,
is there a API way to tell if room is limbo or not? since, as you say right now in SmartFox2 there is no property limbo="true" on rooms anymore, limbo rooms are just rooms which receive less event right?
so how do I tell in ext or in client API when I receive list of rooms if any of them are limbo or not?

hum.. Good question.. I think that the room object, like in SFS1x, has an object called properties, where you can put custom properties, which are invisible to players. So you can try putting a property called limbo

hi. So you can try private room variables. Well, you just need to set the variable at the moment you create the room, right?

hi rjgtav, thanks for reply, yes I thought to use private variable too, but I am still confused about limbo room,
do you know ?
in the extension is there a way to know if room dispatches this or that even? maybe that way I can tell?

maybe there is no way to know if room is limbo ?in my extension how do I determine from list of rooms which room is limbo?

Hi. As far as i know, you can't know which events are fired. But if you set a variable limbo=true upon room creation, then in the extension you just check if that variable is true.
