Hi,
I'm stuck.........please help.
I have looked at all posts for the 2048 error and still no luck.
I have a windows 2008 server sp2 (32bit). I running smartfox2x 2.9.0.
I am able to get on the admin console from a browser on the server.
I am trying to run the connector flash example locally on the server and I get the 2048 error.
I have tried the following:
1. turned off the firewall
2. allowed all traffic through the firewall bidirectionally,
3. turned on bluebox in the connector example config file
4. added the 9933 port (tcp and udp) for both the 127.0.0.1 and real IP address for inbound and outbound on the admin tool general socket addresses.
5. added the real Ip address to the admin tool whitelist
I'm running flash standalone R15 projector (just downloaded yesterday).
Thanks, Larry
can't connect to the server - error 2048
Re: can't connect to the server - error 2048
The problem is the standalone projector.
If the AdminTool works then any other client will work. The projector uses an internal security setting that doesn't allow you to run a SWF that also accesses the network.
Problem is it also fails silently, without any meaningful error. Adobe has never managed to make this clear in 6+ years
And that's why we recommend to download our Example packages and copy them into the www/examples folder of SFS2X, so that you can run them in the browser where the problem doesn't exist.
I would still recommend to use this route. Simply point your browser to http://localhost:8080 and follow the instructions we provide. It will work out of the box.
Otherwise you will have to mess around with the standalone FlashPlayer. Click the right mouse, choose Global Settings... and from there I can't really guide you because it depends on which system and OS you're using
There should be an "Advanced" tab from where you can authorize local SWF files to access the network.
The first option is the easy way

Thanks Lapo
.....I'll give it a try!
Re: can't connect to the server - error 2048
Lapo,
I followed the instructions you pointed me to and same problem....2048.
The basic examples that I download from your link only has the flash swf file (which opens the flash R15 stand alone player). It did not have an html version.
, however the original examples folder that I downloaded from the "download source files" link on your website, did have a html connector version and I moved it to the smartfox examples folder....same thing...2048.
any ideas?
Thanks,
Larry

Re: can't connect to the server - error 2048
No, sorry but we're not talking about the same thing. The pack contains different folder each with the SWF and the related HTML page.
When you open http://localhost:8080 you get "welcome page" with a link to get the Example Pack.
You download it and then you unzip it under SFS2X/www/root/examples/ and click in the same welcome page the "examples main page" link.
This will allow you to browse the examples and test them in the browser.

Re: can't connect to the server - error 2048
Thanks Lapo,
It works now....... Looks like I'll have to figure out how to make this work with SWF's that I create to work with smartfox......... Unless you have good doc for flash player R15 showing me how to deal with this?
I'm running windows server 2008 sp2.
Thanks,
Larry

I've been getting this message recently too. I reboot and then it seems to work but not always.lengmark wrote:spoke to soon........the connector example works for a short period (connection successful) then msg......connection was lost reason unknown.

This post is 2 years old, it would be much better if you could start a new one adding all the details of the issue.Rices wrote:I've been getting this message recently too.
