Hi Lapo... or anyone else that may know.
I generate a rather long room name. I store this value as the game room ID in mySQL. The ID is composed of the game ID: (0003) + the Date (09162007) and Time Stamp (163757) + some random number... in this case "873".
So the complete room name in this example: 000309162007163757873
I have found that when I create a new room... the last digit is dropped as shown in my console message below.
[gameHandler.as]: checking if room exists with name 000309162007163757873
[gameHandler.as]: room = null
[gameHandler.as]: room does not exist... creating it.
[SQL_Login.as]: Internal Event: newRoom
[SQL_Login.as]: new room created
[gameHandler.as]: internal event: newRoom
[gameHandler.as]: room 00030916200716375787 created.
In this last line... the "3" at the end was dropped.... no wonder "getRoomByName" was failing...
Regards,
Brent

What version you use. There was a problem with the long room names but as far as I remember this problem was fixed in on of the patches - the version is something that I don't remmemberBattleSpace wrote:I should mention that I did shorten the ID to 20 characters and now my code works.
I couldn't find any maximum length for room names mentioned anywhere in the documentation...
Out of curiosity... why is there a limit?
