We noticed that some users are not saving the edit map after editing.
This is caused because of the length of the message sent to SFS during the save.

My question is:

is it dangerous to change the <MaxMsgLen> of the config.xml that has the default value 4096?
Can I double it?

"MaxMsgLen - The maximum length of an incoming message. By default it is set to 4096 bytes (4 KBytes)"

Yes, you can safely modify it within reason.
I would probably avoid Megabyte-sized messages, but other than that... no problem.
