get this users unique ID

Is there a simple code I can put somewhere to get the unique ID of the user?

i'm pretty sure this isn't right...this is in flash to get the unique id number assigned to each user.

From flash API:

user.getId():Number : returns the user Id

Is this what you mean?

how do i write that? From in the API? I can't just put it in the flash movie? this doesnt work:

uid = user.getId()
trace("uid: "+uid)
