Connect game with a webpage?

Post by Atlas »

I was wondering how easy it would be to connect aspects of your game with a non-Flash webpage. As an example, say I want the player to be able to use a secure payment website to unlock additional content within the game. How would one go about getting the secure payment website to interface with the SmartFoxServer to inform it that XYZ account now has such-and-such options activated?

Happy New Years! Good luck with your excellent product in 2006! :D

Sure. I just wasn't sure if that's how the experts did it.

And on that note, does anyone have a favorite database as far as being easy to set up and use and stuff?

As Virusescu suggested using a DB would be the most simple and effective way. I would suggest to use MySQL if you want an open source solution or MS Access, which is not free but is very easy to use.
