Hi
I've been using pun for my last few projects and now I am looking for alternatives. I came across this framework and noticed that it supports large number of players like a mmo. I was wonferung How well does it perform?
Do I also need to host my own servers or does it come with servers like pun?
If I need my own servers, how much would the server upkeep cost assuming the monthly max ccu is 2k?
Unity sds2x

SmartFoxServer is the engine for a lot of large scale projects: MMOs, virtual worlds, mobile games etc... including Disney's Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island. Performance is not an issueMrm83 wrote:Hi

You can take a look at the showcase here:

And you can read technical papers about performance here:

We don't provide hosting directly, but we have partners that provide it with a one-click setup.Do I also need to host my own servers or does it come with servers like pun?

It's difficult to say.If I need my own servers, how much would the server upkeep cost assuming the monthly max ccu is 2k?
There are many variables, like if you're running server side code and how demanding it is. Also the type of game you're developing will affect the bandwidth usage (e.g. turn based game vs realtime action game)
For a chat/turn based game even an Amazon EC2 micro instance can be enough and the cost can be around $15-20/month.
Hope it helps
