Installing SmartFoxServer 1.x as a daemon

Post by grookier »

Good morning,

I would like to install SmartFoxServer 1.6.20 as a service.

I only found the documentation for SmartFoxServer 2.x

Code: Select all

[Unit]
Description=SmartFoxServer 2X
After=network.target

[Service]
Type=forking
User=root
WorkingDirectory=/path/to/SmartFoxServer_2X/SFS2X
ExecStart=/path/to/SmartFoxServer_2X/SFS2X/sfs2x-service start
ExecStop=/path/to/SmartFoxServer_2X/SFS2X/sfs2x-service stop
Restart=on-abort

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
I have Ubuntu 18.04

Hi,
I don't know it's possible, as SFS PRO is pretty old and not designed for the most recent Linux distros.
You may try using the same doc for SFS2X and adapt it to the PRO to see if it works.

Unfortunately we no longer support SFS PRO, besides security patches, so I would highly recommend moving to SFS2X for any serious game dev project.

Thanks
Lapo
