With SmartFoxServer rolling out a new version that is not backwards compatible with the previous version (http://www.smartfoxserver.com/2X/), this leaves me with a few questions,

1 - Can we expect an update to OpenSpace to work on this new platform?

2 - If so, will it be availible with the launch of SmartFoxServer x2, or at a later date? Any kind of ballpark date would be appreciated.

3 - Additionally, will our existing OpenSpace 2.0 projects easily be ported to this new platform?

Yes, OpenSpace will be updated to be compatible with SFS2X.

2 - If so, will it be availible with the launch of SmartFoxServer x2, or at a later date? Any kind of ballpark date would be appreciated.

We would like to make it available together with the final release of SFS2X.

3 - Additionally, will our existing OpenSpace 2.0 projects easily be ported to this new platform?

The OpenSpace client API won't change, so you won't need to change the way you interact with OpenSpace. Of course your application is not only made of OpenSpace, so you will need to make some changes to adapt it to the new SmartFox APIs.
On the server-side, if you extended the OpenSpace Extension, you will need to rewrite your extension to a certain extent (handling internal events and client requests) to adapt it to the new SFS2X model.
