VM Used Memory ::VM USAGE max'd

Post by d3m0nlogic »

We are having problems with lag with our application .. And the VM usage is totally max'd and there are only 17 users on there. We need to know how to fix this..as it has always been this way as far as VM usage regardless of the initial committed vm memory amount.. but since the initial is 1.5 gigs.. it really puts into question for us if there is a config we are missing.

so a recap :
VM Total Used:
[*********************] 1.7GB
VM Used Memory:
[*********************] 1.7GB

Chug chug chug chug .... spatter spatter....

Well I get a report from my guys that the clients are experiencing lag to what best described as no response from the server.. then all at once..
I will try tomorrow to get a more detailed description of where the lag is occurring.

It would be good to monitor with jconsole or VisualVM ( https://visualvm.dev.java.net/ ) and see what's going on in the heap. For those few users 64MB of heap would be a huge amount :)
1.7GB doesn't make any sense, if it's really all occupied and I can hardly believe it. If it is so you are creating some monster memory leak from the server side.

aarrgh.... memory leaks...
There shouldn't be a memory leak.. I will try to install again the visualvm utility. It never worked.. but I will try to get it up and running... again.

The report that I got from the users of our game is that there is general lag for game play... and there aren't that many users on the server at any given time.. maybe 20 max... but that is steadily climbing.

The admin tool drops out connection all the time...

Also.. I fear that there are dropped packets... because simple things like count down.. seams to skip a beat... if you guys want... I can send a url for you guys to check it out and give some feed back.
